Need a Short Sale?
Though no longer very common, if you are facing imminent foreclosure, then a short sale may very well be the answer. First, you should seek the advise of a Real Estate Attorney. I cannot provide you with legal advise!
A short sale is when a lender agrees to allow the sale of your home to go through for less than the amount owed on the mortgage. They are obviously losing money in doing so. The only reason they would consider allowing this is because the only alternative is a foreclosure. If you have other assets and just simply want to sell your home for less than is owed, itís not going to happen. You must be able to demonstrate hardship, and that you have no resources to make good on the debt.
